Leo's Happy Tail Image
Leo was one of our longest shelter residents, coming into POA care in March 2024. He was adopted several times but did not get along with some of the pets in the house and was returned. Leo had some health issues and some behavioral issues, but he was also consistently a volunteer favorite because he’s a complete character. Leo is funny and smart and always 100% himself.

In July Leo went to a foster to adopt home with the volunteer who was his biggest cheerleader for a very long time. She wasn’t sure she could make it work with her current cat, but every week it became harder and harder for her to leave Leo and go home. And watching him get passed over every week for adoption was breaking her heart. She knew what she had to do. So one week she didn’t leave Leo behind when she went home.

Where he is thriving! We think Leo is where he was always supposed to be. And more importantly, he is with the people he was always supposed to be with.
