Nixie (formerly Azalea) is one of the hundreds of kittens adopted from Protectors of Animals this year. Her mother Wisteria came to POA because her people had far too many cats to care for. Nixie and her siblings were born in one of our fabulous foster homes and were loved and spoiled from the moment of their births.
You may wonder why we are sharing Nixie’s story- alongside all of these other, harder stories. First, to remind people that not every cat or kitten in a shelter has a hard story. Some have known only love. Second, because Nixie’s adopter shared the kinds of words we hope to hear from every adopter. Here is what she said:
“In just a few hours, you’ve stretched out, blepped, and melted right into our hearts. You came in quiet and cautious, and somehow already claimed every inch of the bed like it’s always been yours.
There’s something about you — soft, soulful, and mysterious — like a little spell wrapped in fur. You’ve found your place here. You’re safe. You’re loved. You’re home.
