When Maggie first arrived at POA, she didn’t just meet volunteers — she captured them. Her wide smile and gentle, loving heart quickly made her a shelter favorite. While she would have happily accepted treats from everyone she met, her biggest supporters lovingly held a “treat strike,” helping her begin a healthier journey. At 90 pounds, Maggie’s path to her future included not only finding a family, but helping her feel her very best.
Then one day, her people came.
A family of five — three humans and two resident dogs — were searching for another four-legged friend. From the moment they met Maggie, something clicked. But one important step remained: meeting her potential siblings.
Maggie met Winston and Lily… and fit right in.
After coming home, Maggie and Winston quickly became best friends — playing, bonding, and beginning the life she had been waiting for. Her new mom shared,
“We are so delighted to have found Maggie. She is the perfect addition to our family. She is sweet, full of energy, and a perfect playmate for her new brother Winston. We appreciate all the efforts from the team in facilitating this adoption.”
Today, Maggie isn’t just adopted — she is completely, unquestionably home.
